Hello - We're working on a documentary film and will be shooting in Milwaukee for three days. The film is about a mother whose son died while in police custody in the 1980's, and the civil rights attorney that fought for justice on the case.
We are seeking an Assistant Camera Operator -or- Director of Photography that has experience with both shooting interviews (with light set-up) and verite in the field (follow-and-shoot). The three filming days will be generally light/easy due to working with an 86-year-old participant.
This is a passion project, but will likely have a successful festival run and will be a great credit to add to your resume. This is a meaningful film intended to create conversations that spawn social/cultural awareness and change. The right candidate will have a high level of sensitivity to work with a family and community in mourning.
*Bonus if you have experience setting-up lights -or- have a light kit included in your gear list.
